Discord Ticket System: Setup and Best Practices
How to handle requests, complaints and applications on your Discord server in an orderly way – with private ticket channels, forms and clear workflows for your team.
Updated: 13 October 2026
As soon as a server grows, requests end up everywhere: in direct messages, in the general channel or with whichever moderator happens to be online. That is confusing, and nobody knows who is taking care of what. Two tools bring order.
Tickets for personal requests
A ticket is a private channel that a member opens with one click. Only that person and your team can see it. Complaints, questions or reports can be sorted out confidentially there, without the whole server reading along. The team can claim tickets, prioritise them, comment internally and finally save a transcript of the conversation.
The guide: Setting up a ticket system. What the saved conversation looks like and where to find it is covered in Saving ticket transcripts.
Forms for structured input
If you need the same details for every request, a form is better than a free conversation. This fits applications for a team or clan, unban requests or partnership requests. Members fill in a short form, your team reviews the submission and accepts or rejects it.
The guide: Setting up an application form on Discord.
Which tool fits when?
- Ticket: The matter is open. It needs a conversation, follow-up questions and maybe evidence such as screenshots.
- Form: You need the same details for every request and a clear decision (accepted or rejected).
- Both: A form for the application, then a ticket for the conversation with the person who qualifies.
A few rules for a good support team
- One contact per matter. Use the claim function so that two moderators do not answer the same thing.
- Prioritise. Urgent reports, for example about harassment, come before questions about role assignment.
- Keep conversations safe. Especially for reports, a saved transcript helps if someone asks later.
- Ask for feedback. A short rating after every ticket shows you where your team can improve.
Which module is included in which plan is shown in the "Related Kage features" box further down and in the pricing overview.
