How to Keep a Message at the Bottom of a Discord Channel
Keep an important message visible: how a sticky message reposts itself automatically at the bottom of a channel.
Updated: 14 October 2026
Rules, notices or a how-to get buried in chat quickly. Pinning only helps partly, because pinned messages do not sit at the bottom. A sticky message, by contrast, stays at the bottom: once enough new messages arrive in between, Kage deletes the old one and posts it again.
Quick answer: In the dashboard under Sticky Messages set a text and a Threshold per channel. After that many new messages the text is back at the very bottom.

Setting it up
- Open the Sticky Messages module and switch on Sticky Messages enabled.
- Click + Add channel and choose the channel.
- Write the sticky message text (up to 2000 characters).
- Set the Threshold: after how many new messages the sticky message is reposted. By command the default is 5.
- Save.
By command it works with the bot's sticky command; thresholds from 1 to 100 are possible.
How it works
- There is one sticky message per channel.
- The counter lives in the bot's memory. After a restart it starts over; the message then stays a little longer than necessary.
- The old sticky message is removed automatically so there are never two in the channel.
- Messages from bots do not count.
Tips
- Keep it short. A long text causes scrolling annoyance. Link to a detailed page.
- Do not set it too low. At threshold 1 Kage reposts after every message, which makes the channel restless.
- For embeds with images or buttons the embed builder fits, see How to create Discord embed messages.
If it does not work
- Nothing is reposted. Is Sticky Messages enabled on, is the threshold reached and does the bot have write and delete permissions in the channel?
- The module is resting. Sticky Messages is tied to a plan; the "Related Kage features" box shows the assignment.
Works well with
Sticky messages suit busy channels, for example next to temporary voice channels or a stats channel.
