Roles and Access
How Kage assigns roles: automatically on join or by reaction – settings, exact flows and troubleshooting.
This section documents how Kage hands out roles and how you can tell that it works. Almost all problems with role assignment have the same cause: the role order in Discord. Kage's role must be above the roles that Kage is supposed to assign in the role list.
- Auto roles: automatically assign one or more roles when someone joins.
- Reaction roles: members choose their role with an emoji reaction on a panel message.
- Role Panels: role selection by button or dropdown, with single choice, maximum, temporary roles and level requirement.
- Temporary roles: roles for a limited time that Kage removes automatically.
Task-based guides are available in the guides section.
