Plan Guild Events and Rosters on Discord: Kage OPS
Kage OPS lets you plan events, sign-ups and group rosters for your guild, adjustable for any game and with announcements right in Discord. What the web app does and how to start.
Updated: 14 October 2026
A guild or clan lives on reliable dates: Who is coming to the raid? Who plays which role? Who sits in which group? In chat logs and spreadsheets this gets lost quickly. Kage OPS, the Kage Gaming Web App, is a separate event and roster planner for gaming guilds. It works together with the Kage bot: announcements and rosters land in Discord automatically, the planning happens in the browser.
In short: Sign in with Discord, pick your server, create an event with groups and publish it. Members confirm with a button in Discord, you distribute them across groups and roles, and the roster is posted in Discord.
Who the web app is for
Kage OPS is not tied to one game. Raid guild, shooter team or sci-fi fleet: you set up formats, roles, classes and values yourself. The web app is a separate product next to the Kage dashboard and tied to your server's plan. Whether your server may use it is shown in the Kage dashboard, for example on the web app card on the start page. The "Matching Kage features" box further down shows the plan assignment as well.
How an event works
- Create the event: Pick a format (for example your regular guild league, a scrim or a raid), then set title, description, start time and maximum number of participants. The groups come from the format; you can adjust them or load a saved template.
- Design the Discord post: You choose the announcement channel, language and color, can add a banner and see a preview of roughly how the post will look.
- Publish: The event appears in Discord. Members sign up there with a button, and the list updates live.
- Distribute: You place confirmed players into groups and roles with drag and drop. Alternatively the web app distributes automatically, optionally at the sign-up deadline. Before that you get a preview of the distribution that you can check.
- Post the roster: The groups are posted in Discord. People who were assigned find out there. Reserve and bench are separate lists.
- Follow up: Who showed up and who did not is visible in the statistics.
For recurring dates ("every Saturday at 8:30 pm") you create a series. Kage then generates the events in advance and announces them.
What members do
- Create a character: Name, classes (with priority) and values that your admin defines as attributes, for example gear or combat values.
- Confirm or decline: Yes, maybe, no, or voluntarily the bench, right on the event.
- State preferences: Preferred group or side and a short note for the assignment.
- Use the calendar: All events at a glance, also as a subscribable calendar for your own phone or computer.
- Guides and videos: A library of build guides whose target values you can compare with your own values, plus videos from the guild. Recordings can be discussed with comments.
What admins configure
The administration carries most of the customization:
- Formats: Your own event types with groups and participant numbers, also saved as templates.
- Classes and attributes: Your own class and role catalog with icons and your own values for characters, fitting your game.
- Appearance: Name, logo, colors and background image per guild.
- Permissions: Who may create events, edit guides or manage members can be delegated in detail. Admin and event manager are two separate levels.
- Switch features on and off: For example automatic distribution or the calendar subscription.
- Statistics and history: Confirmations and declines, no-shows and a log of changes.
Limits
- The web app plans events and rosters. It does not play the game and does not read data from the game. You enter values yourself.
- Automatic distribution is a suggestion based on fixed rules whose order you set. You can change any assignment by hand.
- For posts in Discord the bot needs permission to write and to embed content in the chosen channel.
Getting started in short
- Open the web app card in the Kage dashboard and sign in with Discord.
- In the admin area, create classes, attributes and a first format.
- Ask your members to create a character.
- Create an event, publish it and distribute the confirmations.
Works well with
For small decisions on the server, polls are often enough. Temporary voice channels give every game session its own channel. How to manage roles for groups and teams on the server is covered in Creating, managing and automating Discord roles.
