Set Up a Discord Server with AI: Kage AI Setup

How to let Kage AI plan your Discord server: describe it, check the preview, confirm explicitly and, if needed, undo everything with one click. With limits and tips.

Updated: 22 October 2026

Building a Discord server from scratch means: thinking up categories, naming channels, creating roles with suitable permissions, securing private areas and configuring modules. Kage AI Discord Setup drafts all of it. You describe your server in your own words, the AI plans roles, channels, permissions and modules, and you check everything in a preview that looks like Discord.

In short: In the dashboard open Kage AI Discord Setup, describe your server and agree to the data transfer. Check the plan in the preview, revise it if needed and explicitly confirm applying it. Until then Kage changes nothing. Afterwards you can remove it all with Undo if you want.

When AI Setup is worth it

  • You want to build a new server quickly but still thoughtfully.
  • You have a concrete idea (for example "gaming clan with a private officers' area and raid voice channels") but no desire to create every detail by hand.
  • You want to extend a server without changing what exists. Kage recognises channels and roles with the same name and does not create them twice.

For a start with fixed templates and rules there is the Setup Assistant.

Step by step

  1. Describe: Tell it what the server is for, how big the community is, which areas and which team you need and what matters to you. The more concrete, the better the plan fits. Templates such as Gaming clan, Open community, Streamer, Study group or Project give you a start.
  2. Agree: The tick box names what goes to the AI provider: your description and the names of your categories, channels and roles, but no messages and no members. Do not enter data about other people or credentials.
  3. Create the plan: This usually takes 30 to 90 seconds. If something is unclear, the AI asks up to three short questions, once.
  4. Check the preview: You see categories and channels, roles with colours, locks on private areas and read-only channels, the modules with their settings and the protection against spam bots. What already exists is marked "existing".
  5. Revise: For example write "Fewer channels" or "Add an area for streamers". A session allows six AI rounds.
  6. Apply: Kage checks the server once more. In the dialog you see the numbers and confirm. Then Kage creates everything and shows the result.
  7. Finish the rest: Below the result are guides and a list of manual tasks.

What Kage guarantees

  • Nothing without your yes: Before your explicit confirmation Kage does not change your server.
  • Never Administrator: Kage does not grant the Administrator permission. You create a leadership role yourself.
  • Nothing existing is deleted or overwritten, only added to.
  • Private areas stay private: Kage checks that Discord really applied the visibility and sets it explicitly otherwise.
  • Errors one by one: If a step fails, the others continue and you see exactly what did not work.

What you still set up yourself

Some things need you, such as forms, giveaways, the server backup, accounts for Social Alerts, tracked links or the community board. The preview explains step by step where to set what, with a link to the matching page. Granting a member role or moving existing members over is also your task.

Tips

  • Give Kage the Manage Channels and Manage Roles permissions and move the Kage role up in the role list. Otherwise Kage cannot assign new roles later, and the result page points that out.
  • Plan verification only together with a channel for the confirmation button and a member role. The AI proposes both; keep an eye on them in the preview.
  • Check roles marked "far-reaching permissions" especially carefully.
  • Planning anew costs allowance (Basic 1, Premium 2, Enterprise 15 plans per month). Revising instead of restarting saves it.
  • Viewing the plan is free. Applying is included in Enterprise and costs 5 euros per application in Basic and Premium; you pay in the apply dialog, only after the preview.

Something went wrong?

Then Undo helps: it deletes the created channels, categories and roles including their content, removes the panel messages and restores module settings, except what you changed yourself since. If a module does not work afterwards, Troubleshooting helps.

All settings, limits and error messages are in the wiki.
