Create a Private Channel: Visible Only to Certain Roles
How to make a channel private on Discord: create the channel as private, allow roles, remove permissions from @everyone and check that only the right people can read along.

Private channels are meant for teams, moderators or members with certain roles. Everyone else does not see the channel at all.

Step by step
- Open the channel settings (gear), then Permissions.
- Turn on Private Channel, or deny View Channel for @everyone.
- Add the wanted role and allow View Channel (and Send Messages if needed).
- Also give access to bots that should write there.
- Save and check with a test account that the channel is invisible to others.
For whole areas
Set the rules on the category so that all channels inside take them over. This saves work as long as the channels' permissions are synced with the category. The background is explained in Understanding Discord permissions.

Do administrators see a private channel? Yes. Whoever has the Administrator permission sees all channels.
Can I make a private channel public again? Yes. Turn Private Channel off or allow @everyone to View Channel again.
