Boost Thank-You Message: Automatically Honor New Server Boosts
How Kage detects new server boosts and posts a thank-you message: placeholders for boost level and count, channel fallback, limits of detection and troubleshooting.
Last checked for accuracy: 14 October 2026
When a member boosts your server, Kage automatically posts a thank-you message, for example with the current boost level and the number of boosts. The module is small, has no commands and needs only a switch, a channel and a text. If you also reward boosts with XP, you find that under Levels and XP.
Requirements
- Access to the module: You sign in to the dashboard with Discord and need the Manage Server permission (or access granted for this module).
- Kage's permissions in the channel: Send Messages.
- Without a chosen channel: Kage uses the server's system channel, which you set in Discord's server settings. If there is none, Kage posts nothing.
How detection works
Discord does not report a new boost as an event of its own. Kage recognizes it by the fact that a member's boost timestamp is newly set:
- A member who had not boosted the server before boosts it now.
- Kage checks whether the module is active.
- Kage picks the channel: the configured one or the system channel.
- Kage replaces the placeholders in the text and posts the message.
- The post appears in the module's Logs tab.
Important:
- If a member has already boosted the server and boosts a second time, that does not count as a new start, and there is no further message.
- If someone ends their boost and boosts again later, Kage can honor them again.
- Even without this module, Discord shows its own boost system message, provided it is enabled in the server.
The message text
You can use these placeholders:
| Placeholder | Result |
|---|---|
{member} | Mention of the booster |
{level} | The server's current boost level (0 to 3) |
{count} | The current number of server boosts |
The default text is "🚀 Danke {member} für den Boost! Der Server ist jetzt Level {level} ({count} Boosts)." (German). If you use curly braces other than these three, Kage posts a simple thank-you sentence instead of your text.
Settings at a glance
| Dashboard field | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Boost thank-you message active | Turns the module on | off |
| Channel | Target channel, "use system channel" as fallback | System channel |
| Message template | Text with placeholders | see above |
Checking the result
- Check the setting: Turn the module on, choose the channel and save.
- Wait for a boost: A real boost is needed; there is no test by command. Then check the channel and the Logs tab.
- Check the text: The placeholders are replaced by mention, level and count.
Troubleshooting
No thank-you message arrives
Check that the module is active, that a channel is chosen or a system channel is set, and that Kage may write there. It has to be a new boost: a second boost by the same member triggers nothing.
The message appears in the wrong channel
Without a chosen channel, Kage uses the system channel. Choose a fixed channel in the dashboard.
Only a simple thank-you sentence appears
Your text contains curly braces other than {member}, {level} and {count}. Remove them.
