Kage Control Center: The Windows App for Your Server
What the Kage Control Center can do: server health, analytics, security, support, gaming center and all servers in a Windows app, with plan split, sign-in, notifications and limits.
Last checked for accuracy: 20 October 2026
The Kage Control Center is a desktop app for Windows. It configures nothing but shows the state of your server: health, activity, security and support. It also helps you act quickly, for example to handle tickets or moderate members. You still change settings in the dashboard.
For a short walkthrough, see the guide Control Center.
Requirements
- Windows as the operating system. There is no app for other systems.
- Management rights on the server: the app only lists servers where you have management rights and which have a suitable plan.
- Plan: The Control Center belongs to a higher plan. The plan notice at the top of this page shows which one. Some areas additionally require Enterprise (see the table).
- Download: The download for Windows appears on the dashboard of a server that may use the app.
Signing in
- Install the app and start it.
- Click Sign in with Discord. The sign-in runs in a small window of the app and closes itself afterwards.
- Choose your server. Each server shows its plan.
Kage stores the sign-in encrypted on your computer. It is valid for up to 7 days. After that you sign in again. The app updates itself: once a new version is downloaded, a notice appears at the top with which you install it by clicking. The interface is available in German and English.
The areas of the app
| Area | Content | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Overview | Members, online count, active modules, messages today | from Premium |
| Server health | Overall value with grade and factors including explanations | from Premium, two more factors in Enterprise |
| Analytics | Charts of the last 30 days, comparison with the 30 days before, leaderboard | from Premium |
| Members | Search members, assign and remove roles | from Premium |
| Members: moderation actions | Warn, timeout, kick, ban | Enterprise |
| Security | Moderation cases and, separately, automatic events from anti-raid and anti-spam | from Premium |
| Gaming center | most played games, players per game, applicant scoring for forms | Enterprise |
| Social & creators | Creator leaderboard with trend, own creator statistics | Enterprise |
| Support | View tickets, claim, set priority, close, reopen, escalate | Enterprise |
| Support team | Team with levels, permissions and online status | Enterprise |
| Support analytics | Handling time, time to first response, escalation rate | Enterprise |
| All servers | Health, open tickets and security events of all your servers | from Premium |
The app shows areas your plan does not cover with a lock and an upgrade notice. The server enforces the lock, not only the app.
Server health
The value combines growth, activity, retention of new members, voice and moderation, as described in the Analytics. With Enterprise, support (open tickets) and security situation (automatic events in the last 7 days) are added as real factors. The seven weights are then converted to 100 percent. Each open ticket subtracts 10 points from the support factor, each automatic security event 15 points from the security factor.
Security
Moderation cases (warning, kick, ban, timeout) are structured and reliable. For anti-raid and anti-spam there is only the message itself as text, without fixed fields for perpetrator and target.
Gaming center
The gaming center evaluates Discord's "playing" indicator. It only starts once the function is running and counts only finished sessions. There is no data for the time before.
How playtime is calculated: A session starts when "playing X" appears for a member and ends when the indicator disappears or the game changes. A game's playtime is the sum of the durations of all finished sessions in the selected period. Every few minutes the bot checks whether the person is still playing; if an end was missed (for example due to a restart), the session ends at the last confirmed moment instead of adding hours or days. A single session also counts for at most 12 hours.
Who is counted? Only members who are online in Discord and whose game indicator is visible. Someone set to Invisible or offline sends no game indicator to Discord even while playing. That time is not recorded, so the values are a lower bound of the real playtime. Members who turned off showing their activity in Discord are missing as well. Voice time per game exists only while the Rank and XP system awards voice XP. In addition, the app scores form applications (see below).
Scoring applicants
With Enterprise you can set criteria for a form, by which the app scores submissions with points and puts them in a ranking. Each criterion belongs to a question of the form (matched by the question text) and has:
- a weight from 0 to 100,
- either keywords: the points are the weight times the share of keywords that appear in the answer (upper and lower case do not matter),
- or a number: Kage reads the first number in the answer and scales it to a maximum, for example 7 out of 10.
The ranking shows the points reached and the points possible, for example "42 / 60". Without criteria, all submissions appear with 0 points. You can accept or reject applications directly in the app, with the same flow as in the dashboard or in Discord.
All servers
If you look after several servers, All servers shows for each server the health value, the open tickets and the security events of the last 7 days. Only servers that may use the Control Center appear.
Notifications
The app can send desktop notifications when something happens on the currently open server: a new or escalated ticket or a hit from anti-raid or anti-spam. For this, Kage polls about every 45 seconds. You switch them on or off in the app, separately by type of event. There are no notifications for servers you do not have open at the moment.
What the app cannot do
- No configuration: Setting up modules, choosing channels and roles or inviting the bot is done in the dashboard.
- No replacement for monitoring: The Monitoring module reports when settings or permissions are broken, also directly in Discord.
- Windows only.
Checking the result
- Sign in: Start the app and sign in. Your servers appear with their plan.
- Open a server: Choose a server. Overview and server health show real values.
- Check the lock: Open an area with the Enterprise mark. Without Enterprise, the upgrade notice appears.
Troubleshooting
My server does not appear in the list
You need management rights on the server, and the server needs a plan with the Control Center. Check both in the dashboard.
The app wants me to sign in again
The sign-in is valid for up to 7 days. Sign in again.
An area is locked
It belongs to Enterprise. The lock shows the notice, the link leads to the plans in the dashboard.
The gaming center is empty
It only collects since it was switched on and counts only finished sessions. Wait until members have played. Anyone playing while invisible or offline does not appear.
Notifications do not arrive
Are notifications switched on in the app and is the affected server currently open? Also check the Windows notification settings.
