Additional Kage Music Bots: Up to Three Channels at Once
How to run up to three Kage Music bots at once in different voice channels with Enterprise: inviting, the /music-2 and /music-3 commands, bot selection in the panel and troubleshooting.
Last checked for accuracy: 14 October 2026
A Discord bot can only be in one voice channel per server at a time. With additional Kage Music bots, music runs in up to three voice channels in parallel: the main bot Kage Music (/music) plus Kage Music 2 (/music-2) and Kage Music 3 (/music-3).
The additional bots are an Enterprise feature and are tied to it by design. Everything else about playback is in Kage Music.
The three bots at a glance
| Bot | Command | Plan | Setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kage Music | /music | same as the Kage Music module | Main bot, already on your server |
| Kage Music 2 | /music-2 | Enterprise | Invite via the dashboard card |
| Kage Music 3 | /music-3 | Enterprise | Invite via the dashboard card |
Requirements
- Enterprise plan for your server. Without Enterprise, the additional bots stay in the server but only respond with a notice (see below).
- Kage Music is turned on. The additional bots share the module's settings with the main bot.
- Access to the module: You sign in to the dashboard with Discord and need the Manage Server permission (or access granted for this module). Discord also requires Manage Server to invite a bot.
Inviting the additional bots
- In the dashboard, open Kage Music and find the Additional Kage Music bots card.
- For Kage Music 2 and Kage Music 3, click Invite. The invitation link is prepared for your server.
- Confirm the invitation in Discord. After reloading, the bot shows ✓ In server.
The additional bots only ask for the permissions music needs: View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, Connect and Speak. They get no management permissions. When joining, Kage sets the server nickname to "Kage Music 2" or "Kage Music 3", if that is allowed.
If the card says "This feature is being set up", the additional bots have not been released on the platform yet. Without Enterprise, the card shows "With Enterprise you can run up to 3 Kage Music bots at once" with a link to the plans.
Controlling
/music-2 and /music-3 have the same subcommands as /music: play, panel, pause, resume, skip, stop, volume, nowplaying, stations, dj-role, library-search and library-play. The settings are shared: the DJ role, Maximum volume, Auto-leave, the stream URL permission and the Genre filter. A change applies to all three bots.
Each bot has its own playback and queue. /music-2 stop only ends Kage Music 2.
Choosing the bot in the panel
Once the additional bots are set up, the control panel (/music panel) shows a pick a bot selector at the top. For each bot it shows whether it is free or active in a channel.
- Join a voice channel and open the panel.
- Choose the bot you want. Kage brings it into your voice channel and starts the station Lofi Radio. The bot posts its own panel into the chat where you made the selection.
- You choose further stations in the new panel, with the same rules as in Kage Music.
A bot counts as busy when it sits in a voice channel where at least one human is listening. Nobody can pull a busy bot into another channel, so take a free bot instead.
This also applies to the panel you create with Post how-to in the dashboard: on Enterprise servers with additional bots set up, it contains the bot selector.
Without Enterprise
If the Enterprise plan runs out, the additional bots stay in the server but become inactive. Every command and every panel click answers with "Enterprise required" and a link to the plans. The main bot Kage Music (/music) keeps working independently.
Checking the result
- Invite: Both additional bots show ✓ In server in the dashboard card.
- In parallel: Run
/music panelin voice channel A and/music-2 panelin voice channel B. Both bots play at the same time. - Selector: Open the panel in channel C and choose Kage Music 3. The bot joins channel C.
Troubleshooting
"This feature is being set up"
The additional bots have not been released on the platform yet. Try again later.
The /music-2 commands do not appear
The bot must be in the server, that is, show "In server". After inviting, it can take a moment until Discord shows the commands.
"Enterprise required"
Your server does not currently have Enterprise. Check the plan in the dashboard.
"… can't be reached right now"
The selected bot is not responding at the moment. Try again in a moment or use the bot's command directly, for example /music-2 panel.
"… is currently active in …"
That bot is playing in another channel where someone is still listening. Wait until nobody is listening there, or pick another bot.
A bot counts as busy although nobody is listening
A bot counts as busy as long as at least one human sits in the same voice channel, even without sound. End playback with /music-2 stop.
